Aritsugu Aoshiko Kasanekitae Yanagi w/Red Sandalwood Handle

Aritsugu has a 400 year history of making high quality swords and knives including samurai swords for the Imperial household.    Aritsugu aoshiko(blue iron) kasanekitae(layered) yanagi made in Japan. Yanagi knives are used for thinly slicing fish and cooked meat. 

 

The blade is not stainless steel and must be cared for properly. You should thoroughly clean and dry this knife after use to prevent staining. The handle is red sandalwood with a buffalo horn bolster. The blade is sharpened on one side only. Note: Color of bolster may vary.
